Let Your Child Take You on a Hike!

Expanded Edition includes thirteen trails scattered throughout Rhode Island chosen specifically to allow your child to lead the way. Each hike was chosen based on safety, location, length, suitability, and FUN! Clear directions for each trail included as well as tips to help kids (and adults!) succeed. Notes for each trail include what hikers can expect to see, hear, smell, and touch on their way as well as sections for children to write their own observations. Lists of wildlife and birds in the areas and instructions on how to read trail signs make this one of the most fun educational experiences you can have with your child!

Designed to foster independence and decision-making skills while connecting children to the natural world. Parents are encouraged to tailor the hikes to fit their child’s interests by taking sketch pads and art supplies, binoculars, magnifying glasses, bird guides, etc, to make each hike personal. A great activity while socially distancing–get out and discover some of the most beautiful and interesting places in the state!
